Sept. 24, 2021 | STRIKES | The International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees called on Monday for a strike authorization vote, setting in motion potentially the biggest labor showdown in Hollywood since the last writers’ strike 14 years ago. Some 60,000 IATSE members could end up walking off the job, most of whom are based in Los Angeles.

Public works employees rescue grandmother, grandson from New Haven house fire

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) - A woman and her grandson were rescued by three public works employees after a fire trapped them in a second floor bedroom.

Firefighters said they were called to the home on Shelton Avenue in New Haven on Tuesday morning.

They said the rescued woman, Juanita Bryant, had to push out an air conditioning unit out of a window so she could escape.
